About

My background

Having worked as a District Nurse for many years in Glasgow my career then took me into the world of research and quality improvement. I have worked across all sectors including supporting hospital and hospice projects, mainly focusing on palliative and end of life care.

I have a various qualifications (BN, MPC, RGN, DN) but my PhD in men’s experiences of having breast cancer was definitely a huge achievement for me.

I was always fairly active and enjoyed exercise, but my fitness journey really started in 2017 when I was gifted some PT sessions for my Christmas – now this present could have been received a number of ways, but I was ready to make changes and I was lucky to have been gifted sessions with an amazing trainer who set me on my way.

I’ve since worked with another two coaches and learned so much from them, but the pandemic lockdown and a need to understand what we were doing led me to start studying to become a PT – as a hobby not as an actual PT!

But over time I realised I have a passion for this, and with all my skills I feel I have something to offer the world of PT.

I believe everyone has a right to a healthy and fulfilling life, and no matter where your starting point is, improvements can always be made – so if that’s to be able to get up and walk 100m or run a marathon I want to help people achieve their goals.
